Meet Dr. Jonathan Gelber

During his medical school training, Dr. Gelber also completed a masters degree in biomedical engineering at the prestigious Columbia University. Following his residency in orthopedic surgery at Harbor-UCLA in Los Angeles, Dr. Gelber received additional training in sports medicine at the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic.

Dr. Gelber is a life-long athlete, father of four children, and specializes in arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, hip, and knee. His goal is to return you to an active lifestyle. His approach to treating you involves a collaborative approach and a shared-decision making process. His first step is to listen and then provide a personalized approach to your problem.

Surgery is often a last-resort unless absolutely necessary. Other non-operative options include biologic injections such as PRP or exosomes which use your body’s own healing capabilities. He also has an interest in functional and integrative medicine.

In his spare time, Dr. Gelber enjoys working out on his Peloton, hiking, and cooking. He is also the author of numerous orthopedic papers and book chapters as well as several books including The Ultimate Guide to Preventing and Treating MMA Injuries, From Tiger Woods’ Back to Tommy John’s Elbow, and The Idealist: Jack Trice and the Battle for a Forgotten Football Legacy about the only African-American to have a major college football stadium named after him.
